5 Tips for Choosing the Perfect Wedding Photographer

Updated: Mar 22

Congratulations on your engagement, booking your venue, and securing your wedding date! Now it's time to book some important vendors for your special day. Here are 5 tips for choosing a photographer:

1. Look at their portfolio: Review the photographer's previous work to ensure their style and aesthetic align with your vision for your wedding photos.

2. Meet with them in person, over zoom, or at the very least, on the phone: Schedule a consultation with the photographer to discuss your expectations, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of their personality and professionalism.

3. Check their availability: Make sure the photographer is available on your wedding date and willing to travel to your venue if necessary! * additional tip: if your photographer is a must-have vendor, confirm your date with them as soon as you book your venue!

4. Read reviews and: Look for reviews from past clients to get a sense of their experience working with the photographer. You can also ask to speak directly with previous clients about their experience. Direct referrals are my number 1 way of receiving inquiries, and that makes me so incredibly grateful.

5. Discuss pricing and packages: Make sure you understand the photographer's pricing structure and what is included in their packages. This will help you avoid any surprises later on and ensure you are getting the best value for your budget.

Lastly, if you reach out to multiple photographers (totally normal and expected) please remember to send a kind and simple "we went in another direction" email or text to the ones you didn't choose. It doesn't have to be awkward and we, as professionals, understand you are making the best decision FOR YOU!

XO,

A
